Social Media Manager for Aspiring Author - BookTok and Bookstagram

Overview: I’m an aspiring author currently working on my first book and looking for a part-time freelance assistant to help me build my author brand from the ground up. This would be a monthly contract (a few hours per week), paid monthly, and ideally ongoing if it’s a good fit. The pay range is flexible depending on experience and time commitment. I’m really looking for someone who wants to grow with me and is willing to help where needed. You will be completely in charge of the social media accounts (creating content and posting, engaging with comments, etc.), but all decisions made will need to be ran by me first. I’m not published yet, so a big part of this role is understanding how to create engaging content for an aspiring author. This includes things like writing updates, aesthetic content, “writing journey” posts, character/worldbuilding teasers, etc. Note: I am not looking to post my face if possible, but I'm willing to take photos or videos (not showing my face directly) for you to curate and post based on your recommendation. If you’ve spent time on BookTok/Bookstagram, you probably already know the vibe, but I’m looking for someone who really gets how authors build an audience before their first book is out. You will be: Creating and managing Instagram (Bookstagram) + TikTok (BookTok) accounts Planning + making posts (reels, TikToks, captions, etc.) Staying on top of book trends + helping shape content ideas Running everything by me before posting (collaborative process) Helping with light admin tasks (scheduling, organization, keeping me on track) Meeting with me (via Zoom or Google Meets) weekly What I'm looking for: You’re already deep in BookTok and/or Bookstagram You genuinely love books/reading (especially mysteries, magical realism, and adult fiction) You’re organized, detail-oriented, and reliable You’re creative and have ideas (not just execution) You’re easy to communicate with and open to feedback You can work in Eastern Time (or close to it) Bonus: any kind of art/design skills (digital or traditional) If you're interested, I'd love to learn more about you!
