Short-Form Video Editor | D2C Ecommerce / Premium Baby Gear ⸻ Location:  Remote     Type:  Contract / Part-Time     Start:  ASAP ⸻ Compensation Compensation is structured as a monthly retainer plus per-video pay: Monthly Retainer: Baseline monthly retainer of $1,500   Per-Video Rate: $200 per master creative (original storytelling and technical finish, not including minor repurposing or simple text swaps) Performance Bonus: Additional tiered bonuses for content that achieves specific “viral” milestones For the right candidate, we anticipate ~2 new videos per week. ⸻ Summary We are a premium D2C baby gear brand looking to hire a performance-driven storyteller who understands how to manufacture attention and retention in-feed.   We have a growing library of informational content, UGC, and existing Ads that we want to repurpose into new Ad creatives and attention-grabbing Reels/TikToks. The objective is to drive traffic, brand awareness, and conversions on Meta and TikTok while maintaining our “safety-first” reputation and polished brand voice. ⸻ What You’ll Be Doing • Produce 2 high-quality vertical videos per week for organic and paid channels • Repurpose existing ads and UGC-style content into new short-form ad variations on Meta and TikTok (15–60 seconds) • Create multiple unique hook variations for each concept to support performance testing ⸻ Skills & Expertise Technical Skills • Pattern interruption   • Thumb-stop pacing   • Text-first hooks (designing opening frames for silent autoplay) • Native UX awareness (platform safe zones, UI overlays, captions placement) • Subtitle styling • Use of trending formats— identifying and adapting viral formats to fit brand voice • Ability to iterate based on creative performance data (CTR, Hook Rate, Hold Rate, etc.) Expecting Parent Psychology An ideal candidate understands the emotional levers that resonate with parents and expecting parents, and can translate these into compelling content: • Curiosity gaps (e.g., “Why do parents regret this?”) • Identity hooks (e.g., “POV: You’re a first-time parent…”) • Status/Aspiration triggers (luxury, “smart parent” positioning) • Open loops (incomplete information that forces continuation video retention) Additional Qualifications • Experience in premium retail, luxury, or safety-critical products is a significant plus • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar • Proficiency in AI tools to expedite production workflows and create realistic voiceovers • High attention to detail regarding technical accuracy, baby safety guidelines, and brand alignment • Experience growing accounts or producing clips with 100K+ views ⸻ Application Instructions Please provide answers to the following questions: 1) What editing software do you primarily use? 2) What is your current location/time zone? 3) Please provide a link to your portfolio or folder of 3–5 Ads used for paid advertising. 4) Briefly explain the performance logic behind your best-performing clip in your portfolio. 5) Write 3 different hooks for a premium baby stroller that emphasize convenience and ease for new parents. ⸻ Next Steps Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a paid trial period where they will work with our Marketing team to evaluate editing quality, turnaround time, and alignment with our brand’s standards.
