Product UI / Visual Designer (Contract)

We’re seeking a Product UI / Visual Designer who can take existing UX wireframes and product flows and transform them into polished, high-quality interface designs. You’ll collaborate with our founder, product team, and UX designers to ensure the Lavela platform maintains a consistent and thoughtful visual experience. This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys refinement and craft - taking strong UX structure and elevating it through excellent visual design. Responsibilities Product UI Design Translate UX wireframes and product flows into polished, brand-aligned UI designs Ensure visual consistency across the Lavela Health platform Improve layout, spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy across screens Maintain a high-quality, calm, and cohesive visual experience for users Visual Refinement Review product designs and identify opportunities to elevate visual quality Improve imagery, iconography, and layout to better match Lavela’s aesthetic Ensure new features align with the existing design system Design System & Implementation Work in Figma to update and refine interface designs Maintain organized design files and reusable components Prepare finalized UI designs for product implementation Brand Alignment Apply Lavela’s existing brand guidelines, typography, and color system Select and curate imagery consistent with our visual identity Ensure product updates reflect the tone and aesthetic of the brand Brand Alignment Social media support (creating Canva templates, working closely with social marketing for this)  Deck support (supporting any deck production work) Qualifications Required Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality UI / visual product design Experience designing digital products, SaaS platforms, or consumer apps Excellent visual design fundamentals (typography, layout, color, hierarchy) Proficiency in Figma and Canva Experience collaborating with UX designers and product teams Ability to work from existing wireframes and improve visual execution Preferred Experience with healthcare, wellness, or mental health products Experience working with early-stage startups Familiarity with maintaining or working within a design system Strong sense of visual taste and brand sensitivity What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate: Has strong visual taste and attention to detail Can quickly understand and apply an existing brand system Enjoys refining and polishing product experiences Is comfortable working in a collaborative, startup environment Can move quickly while maintaining high design standards
