We are looking for a product-minded UI/UX designer who: Understands user behaviour, retention, and motivation loops Can design simple, intuitive, habit-forming experiences Thinks in systems, flows, and edge cases - not just screens Has a strong sense of visual hierarchy, spacing, and interaction clarity Can take direction and references, but elevate them into something better You should be comfortable working fast, making decisions, and collaborating closely before development begins. To begin with all communication will be within Contra, if you reach out on other channels your application will be disregarded. What You’ll Be Designing A mobile-first app (iOS + Android) with a clean, engaging UX A supporting web experience (admin / dashboard / parent view) A product inspired by: This is not a marketing website project. This is a real product with real users. Responsibilities Design end-to-end user journeys, not just isolated screens Create high-fidelity UI in Figma with production-ready thinking Define core flows (onboarding, daily usage, progress tracking, etc.) Ensure consistency across mobile and web experiences Think through states, edge cases, and interactions (empty states, errors, locked content, etc.) Collaborate early with us to shape product direction before build Deliver clean, structured Figma files that developers can actually use Requirements 3+ years designing mobile apps (not just websites) Strong portfolio showing: High proficiency in Figma (components, auto layout, design systems) Experience designing for both iOS and Android patterns Ability to communicate decisions clearly and justify design choices Nice to Have (Strong Signals) Experience designing habit-forming or gamified products Experience in education, fintech, or consumer apps Understanding of design systems and scalable UI Previous work with startups or fast-moving teams Who This Is NOT For This will save both of us time — please do not apply if: You rely heavily on templates or UI kits without original thinking Your portfolio is mostly landing pages or marketing sites You cannot explain why you made design decisions You focus on visuals only without UX depth You require constant hand-holding or unclear briefs to work You produce messy Figma files that developers struggle to use How to Apply Please include: Portfolio (with live or real product work preferred) 2–3 examples of mobile apps you’ve designed A short note explaining: How you approach designing a simple but engaging product How you think about user retention or daily usage Final Note We value clarity, speed, and quality. If you are the type of designer who can take ownership, think like a product partner, and deliver work that actually gets built - we want to work with you.
