Deck designer & Permits Specialist

**Job Summary** We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Deck Designer & Permits Specialist to join our innovative team. In this role, you will lead the conceptualization and detailed design of decks, ensuring aesthetic appeal, structural integrity, and compliance with local building codes. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, and permitting authorities to streamline the approval process and bring creative outdoor spaces to life. Your expertise in design software and permit regulations will drive project success from initial concept through final approval, making outdoor living dreams a reality. **Responsibilities** - Develop comprehensive deck designs using advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or Rhino 3D, ensuring precision and creativity. - Create detailed schematics, construction drawings, and 3D models with tools like SketchUp, AutoCAD - Prepare permit applications by compiling necessary documentation and ensuring all designs meet local building codes and zoning regulations. - Liaise with permitting agencies to facilitate smooth approval processes, addressing any revisions or compliance issues promptly. - Incorporate graphic design principles and system design considerations into project plans for seamless integration with existing structures. - Support construction teams by providing clear drafting instructions and technical specifications to ensure accurate implementation of designs. **Experience** - Proven experience in deck design or related fields such as architectural drafting, structural design, or mechanical design. - Strong proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, SolidWorks. - Familiarity with permit processes and local building codes relevant to outdoor structures. - Knowledge of construction practices and safety standards for outdoor decking projects. - Experience working with schematics, technical drawings, and graphic representations for system or interior designs is highly desirable. - Ability to communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and construction teams to ensure project clarity and compliance.
