Greenwood Project was founded in 2016 based on two core principles: “Students can’t be what they can’t see.” and “There is no lack of talent, only a lack of opportunity.” GP’s mission is bold, essential and long overdue. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for qualified Black and Latino college students to attain high-trajectory careers in financial services through rigorous training and internships. At Greenwood Project, we don’t just talk about change; we are the catalyst for it, breaking barriers and building a more inclusive and diverse financial industry. Our people are the foundation that allows us to achieve our ambitious goals. Becoming part of the Greenwood Project team means joining a group of driven, passionate, and intellectually curious individuals. To work here is to be crucial to the organization’s success. Creative Content Strategist (Contract) Ready to build something you can actually be proud of — and do it for a mission that matters? We’re seeking a Creative Content Strategist to own Greenwood Project’s social media presence across content, graphics, and video. This isn’t a post-and-schedule role. We want someone who brings genuine creative vision, uses AI tools as a force multiplier, and can produce the kind of content that makes people stop scrolling. This is a part-time contract role, approximately 15–20 hours per week, with direct collaboration with the Director of Partnerships and CEO. We’re open to candidates globally — what matters is creative excellence, AI fluency, and the ability to work independently across time zones with availability that overlaps with Central Time during core business hours. If you’re the person who is already using AI to produce exceptional visual content, compelling video, and thought leadership at a level most teams can’t match with a full-time hire --and you want to apply that to work that creates real economic mobility for underrepresented student-- we want to hear from you. The Opportunity Greenwood Project has a compelling story to tell, 90%+ Scholar placement rates, 70%+ internship-to-offer conversions, and Scholars landing full time roles at top financial services firms. A model that is changing what financial services looks like. Your job is to make that story impossible to ignore. Through thought leadership content that builds Greenwood’s authority as early career preparation experts and as leaders in the practical adoption of AI tools in the not for profit industry. Through visuals that reflect the caliber of our Scholars and partners. Through video that brings the human side of our mission to life. And through an AI-powered creative workflow that lets you produce at a level that punches well above what a part-time role typically delivers. What Makes This Unique • Direct collaboration with the CEO and Director of Partnerships — real creative partnership, not a content approval bottleneck • Rich source material to work with: Scholar stories, outcome data, partner relationships, industry research, and a brand that stands for something • Real creative latitude — we want your ideas, your aesthetic instincts, and your strategic thinking, not just execution of a predetermined plan • AI tools are not just permitted here, they’re expected — this role is designed for someone who uses them to produce work that wouldn’t otherwise be possible • Visible, mission-driven work: every piece of content you create connects to Scholars landing $100K+careers and building generational wealth Key Responsibilities Content Strategy and Thought Leadership • Develop and execute a content strategy across LinkedIn (primary), Instagram, and Facebook that builds Greenwood’s authority as the leading voice on early career preparation and development in financial services • Build an AI-powered content intelligence workflow that surfaces relevant angles from financial services news, workforce trends, and industry data — turning that intelligence into content worth reading • Produce thought leadership content that is data-driven, opinion-forward, and platform-native — the kind of content that earns followers, not just impressions • Manage a content mix that balances industry insight, Scholar stories, and partner and community content, calibrated to grow both reach and engagement • Route thought leadership pieces through a lightweight leadership review process before publishing; manage all scheduling, community engagement, and comment response Graphics and Visual Content • Design social-ready graphics that reflect Greenwood’s brand identity — on-brand, polished, and optimized for each platform • Use AI image and design tools (Canva AI, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, or equivalent) to produce visual content at a pace and volume that would be impossible through traditional design workflows • Create animated graphics and motion content for social platforms — scroll-stopping visuals that bring data, Scholar stories, and Greenwood’s mission to life • Develop reusable visual templates for recurring content types (Scholar spotlights, impact stats, campaign graphics) that maintain brand consistency while enabling fast production • Collaborate with Greenwood’s external graphic designer on higher-production deliverables; own the day-to-day visual output independently Video Production and Editing • Produce short-form social video for LinkedIn and Instagram Reels — concept, edit, caption, and publish • Edit Scholar and alumni testimonial content into polished, platform-ready clips that capture authentic voices and outcomes • Create event recap video content from raw footage, photos, and assets provided by the team • Use AI video tools (CapCut, Descript, Runway, or equivalent) to accelerate editing, captioning, and production workflows Campaigns and Growth • Design and execute structured campaigns across platforms with defined goals, coordinated content calendars, and post-campaign performance analysis • Launch and grow Greenwood’s Facebook presence from the ground up • Drive measurable audience and engagement growth across all platforms through creative experimentation and data-informed iteration Reporting and Optimization • Deliver monthly analytics reporting covering follower growth, engagement rates, top-performing content, and campaign performance • Benchmark Greenwood’s performance against peer organizations and surface insights that inform ongoing strategy • Own the continuous improvement of your AI creative workflow — testing new tools, refining prompts, and raising the quality ceiling over time Qualifications A note to potential candidates: Multiple studies have shown that BIPOC and other candidates from marginalized populations are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every single one of the qualifications in a job description. Greenwood Project is committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization and finding the best candidate for the job. We strongly encourage interested individuals to apply, even if they don’t believe they meet all of the qualifications described below. AI-Powered Creative Workflow (Non-Negotiable) • You have an established AI workflow for content and creative production — not a dabbler, but someone who has built and iterated on a real system • Hands-on experience using AI tools for writing, graphic design, video editing, or motion graphics — and the ability to show your work • Comfortable evaluating and adopting new AI tools as they emerge; you follow the creative AI space and have genuine opinions about what’s worth using • You understand the difference between AI-assisted work that looks AI-generated and AI-assisted work that looks excellent — and you produce the latter Creative Skills • Strong graphic design sensibility —you understand composition, typography, color, and brand consistency even if you’re not a trained designer • Video editing proficiency: you can take raw footage or assets and produce a polished, platform-optimized clip • Demonstrated ability to create animated or motion graphics for social platforms • Portfolio that shows range across content formats — written posts, graphics, and video — with evidence of real creative judgment, not just technical execution Content and Social Strategy • Experience developing and executing social media strategy for an organization — with measurable results to point to • Understanding of what separates content that builds an audience from content that maintains one — and a strategic instinct for which to produce and when • Strong writer who can translate complex ideas, data, and organizational outcomes into compelling platform-native content • Familiarity with LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook platform mechanics, algorithm behavior, and content best practices Communication and Work Style • Clear, proactive communicator who can operate effectively with minimal hand-holding across time zones • Self-directed with strong follow-through — this role has real creative latitude and real accountability • Intellectually curious about financial services, workforce development, and economic equity — you don’t need to be an expert, but you need to care enough to learn the story How to Apply Submit the following to heidi@greenwoodproject.org • Resume or LinkedIn profile • Portfolio or work samples showing your range across at least two of the three creative formats: written content, graphics, and video • A 2–3 minute Loom video showing your actual AI creative workflow — not describing it, showing it. We want to see the tools, the prompts, and how you quality-control the output • One paragraph: what’s one piece of content you’d create for Greenwood Project in your first 30 days, and why? Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a paid creative test ($150–200): produce a sample week of content — including at least one graphic and one piece of written thought leadership — using Greenwood’s source materials. We’ll provide everything you need.
